_{Lilith was the first woman.
She did not want to submit to Adam.
He hurt her, she left Eden.
The demon Cain met her,
they became lovers (as he was kinder to her)
and now she ranks as a demon.

Wile God kills her children, causing her to steal others,
and Eve is made of Adam's bone -
to insure she will obey.

I'm not deeply religious (and there are many versions of this story) so forgive me if I'm fuzzy on details. But this is my favorite biblical story, and Lilith is my favorite biblical character. She was the first "strong" woman, the first "feminist" and was persecuted for it. Men... in the old days, they needed some story to explain why women must obey, be it pandora's box... or this.

Every woman struggles between being Eve- the person everyone expects her to be, and Lilith - the person she hopes to be. And so Eve is pure and naive, Lilith tainted and mature with the burdens she understood even before the fruit was eaten.
-at least that's my take.

And why is Adam there? Because he's the jerk that started all the trouble...
